Reflection: Satire and AP style rant

As I’m writing this, I’m checking “The Dailyer” Facebook page to see if any of my latest satire stories published online made it to 100 likes. The closest I’ve ever been so far was 83 likes. That’s a lot, but I can’t help but think of all the 100+ stories written and published by everyone but me. A lot of them deserved all those likes, and some, I think, were fine, but not the greatest. I’ve certainly had my fair share of satirical stinkers, and I’m biased towards my own stories and sense of humor; of course I’d think that some of my stories deserve more likes than others. But, hold on, I’m going to check, since we just published a “Kids’ Issue,” and a lot of the stories were written from the perspectives of children. I wrote the most kids’ articles – which is probably a glaring sign that’d make me feel even more insecure if I actually took the time to think about it – and some of them, I think, were real slobberknockers.
